The Hard Lox Festival is our yearly celebration of typical Jewish food, history, traditions and customs. There is a large Jewish population in Asheville and its surrounding areas. At last count there were 23 Jewish organizations here. Jews played an important role in the history and development of this region. Jewish traditions of delicious food, spirituality, music, education, family, charitable works, and tikkun olam (literally “repair of the world”) will be in evidence all day, during our most popular festival. |

Come help us celebrate, and sample some of the most delicious authentic Jewish recipes, and learn what we are all about. A positive outlook, a bias toward learning, social justice, helping those less fortunate, ethical living, lots of smiling, and enjoying great food – these are all aspects of being Jewish. |
